Allison Rees (aka Allykat), M.A., AMFT
Pulse Program Manager
Allison, or Allykat (she/they) has been dedicated to Zendo Project since 2015. She holds a BS in Health Communication from San Diego State University (2015) and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute (2023). Since the Pulse team’s inception in 2023, Allykat’s focus has been on implementing models of support, empowering social systems, and curating networks of people to support the overall mission of expanding communities of compassionate care. Her calling emerges at the sacred intersection of philosophy, social justice, and soul tending—a convergence that illuminates her path as a bridge-builder for healing and restoration.
Allykat moves through psychedelic communities and event production spaces as a guardian—tending to safety, harm reduction, and crisis support throughout the seasons. With experience in providing therapy, mobile crisis response, and volunteer firefighting, her commitment to learning both the skills and art of emergency services embodies the fierce tenderness required when communities face their most vulnerable moments. Whether responding to psychological crisis or literal flames, she brings the same depth of presence to the art of holding space in chaos.
Allykat lovingly amplifies underrepresented voices in psychedelic and mental health spaces. She approaches conflict with curiosity rather than judgment, understanding that true resolution requires holding reverence for both the person and their path. Her work with the Zendo Project and Pulse team is rooted in a social justice and trauma-informed orientation, cultivating foundations where compassion may flourish even in the midst of struggle. Her life in the Sierra Nevada foothills continuously inspires deep breaths and adventure, along with keeping a pulse on beloved friends and family.
