Whether it’s the physical safety impacted by wildfires, the emotional challenge of social isolation in quarantine, or our soul’s journey questioning the sanity of what’s happening around us, 2020 has been planetarily psychedelic, independent of ingesting substances.
At this moment in history, there is more interest than ever before in the potential of psychedelics to be powerful therapeutic tools—but millions of people have used psychedelics outside of these legal contexts, from small parties and large festivals to private living rooms and spiritual ceremonies.
We believe that amidst all the challenges that have unfolded in 2020, there are some beautiful transformations that are still possible within ourselves, our community and for the world at large.
Join the Zendo Project for our webinar series as we provide hope, inspiration and perspective in this otherwise challenging year.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Webinar Details, Dates and Times” _builder_version=”4.6.3″ _module_preset=”default” open=”off”]In this second Zendo Project Webinar Series, you’ll learn how to provide support for people having difficult psychedelic experiences, how to access resources for safer partying and drug testing, and how to reduce the risks associated with psychedelics through preparation, integration, and ethics.
In five 90-minute sessions from October 22 through November 19, you’ll learn from community leaders in the fields of harm reduction, therapy, and psychedelics, and discover how to apply their expertise and wisdom to your life. You’ll also get a chance to ask questions and have them answered live!
The online sessions will include 60 minutes of presentations and conversations, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A from the audience. All sessions will be live, and will take place on Thursdays from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM PT (though some sessions may go slightly longer depending on presenter availability and audience engagement).

Psychedelic Peer Support:

Co-Creating Communities of Compassionate Care

Featuring Zendo Project: Katrina Michelle, Ph.D., Chelsea Rose, M.A., Associate M.F.T., Ryan Jay Beauregard

What can you do to help someone having a difficult psychedelic or emotional experience? What techniques are available for helping transform a potentially traumatic situation into a positive one? What does it mean to create a safe container for someone going through a difficult time? What role has the Zendo Project played at festivals, and what take-home messages are available for others interested in psychedelic peer support?
The mission of the Zendo Project is to provide a supportive environment and education to help transform difficult psychedelic and psychological experiences into opportunities for learning and growth. We envision a world where communities are engaged in providing safety and support for people having psychedelic and psychological challenges; where harm reduction principles are used foremost to reduce the risks associated with substance use.

Known as one of the leaders of the underground psychedelic renaissance, clinical psychotherapists often come to him for advice with their clients. In 2019, he opened the world-renowned HORIZONS psychedelic conference as the ritual voice of spirit.

She has worked in three Ibogaine clinics, completed Andrew Tatarsky’s IHRP training, and has presented at multiple Psychedelic and Harm Reduction conferences. Under her current business Inner Vision Ibogaine, she works therapeutically with people supporting them in preparation for, and in integration after, treatment. Previously Juliana was an opioid dependent person and in 2011, with the help of Ibogaine treatment, she left opioids behind and set off on a path to transform the way drug users and their treatment is approached.
Her work centers around guiding individuals to their own inner power and supporting them in re-framing their life experiences into sources of knowledge and inspiration. She has developed a guide for finding safe Ibogaine treatment and is also currently working to create new systems of accountability and responsibility among Ibogaine practitioners and in the greater psychedelic therapy community. Juliana hopes to orient her work to focus on the social-cultural intersections of harm reduction and psychedelics. She has been featured in Double Blind magazine, Woman’s Day magazine, and Psymposia.

He received his doctorate in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, where he wrote his dissertation on the regulation of the medical uses of psychedelics and marijuana and his Master’s thesis on a survey of oncologists about smoked marijuana vs. the oral THC pill in nausea control for cancer patients. His undergraduate thesis at New College of Florida was a 25-year follow-up to the classic Good Friday Experiment, which evaluated the potential of psychedelic drugs to catalyze religious experiences.
He also conducted a thirty-four year follow-up study to Timothy Leary’s Concord Prison Experiment. Rick studied with Dr. Stanislav Grof and was among the first to be certified as a Holotropic Breathwork practitioner. His professional goal is to help develop legal contexts for the beneficial uses of psychedelics and marijuana, primarily as prescription medicines but also for personal growth for otherwise healthy people, and eventually to become a legally licensed psychedelic therapist. He founded MAPS in 1986, and currently resides in Boston with his wife, dog, and empty rooms from three children, one of whom is in college and two have graduated.
